Robot Challenge

RC April 2026

“Robotics is not just about building machines—it’s about building minds ready for the future.”

RobotChallenge China is one of the largest and most prestigious robotics competitions for young innovators across Asia.

It brings together over 10,000 students annually to design, build, and program robots that can perform complex tasks and showcase creativity, technical skill, and teamwork.

The competition is part of the global RobotChallenge network, which encourages technological literacy, STEM education, and cross-cultural exchange.

The students were  guided by Ms. Kamila, Ms. Nile, and Ms. Beni, who encouraged innovation, problem-solving, and perseverance throughout the process.

Over 2.5 weeks, students worked tirelessly - often using free periods and staying after school - to refine their robot designs and strategies.

Learning Beyond Competition:

They gained not just technical skills in engineering and coding, but also important life lessons in critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, and persistence.

On April 26, our middle school robotics teams proudly competed in the Shanghai Robotics Challenge, a regional branch of the national RobotChallenge series.

After 2.5 weeks of intense preparation, our teams showcased determination, talent, and teamwork.

Gold Medal Teams:

- Jerry (8E), Daniel (8F), Damon (8F), Fiona (6H), Eric (6H), and Elsa (6H) proudly earned two gold medals.

Silver Medal Team:

-  Bourne (6G), Marsden (7H), and Fisher (7G) claimed a silver medal.

Third Place Team:

-  Carl (8E), Lindy (8E), and Amber (6H) took third place.

Three teams have qualified for the international robotics challenge in Beijing later this year - a remarkable achievement reflecting dedication and excellence.

“This challenge represented far more than competition - it fostered curiosity, resilience, and the courage to continue learning.”

Future Opportunities:

Next year, our school will launch a new Robotics CCA or School teams in the Middle School, inviting even more students to join this exciting journey.

The program will build on this year’s success - welcoming all who are curious, creative, and ready to shape the future.

“From circuits to creativity, from code to courage - our journey has only just begun!”

Vision and Purpose 项目愿景与目标

The Robot Challenge Team is a competitive robotics enrichment program designed for students in Grades 6-8. The program aims to develop students' engineering, programming, computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through hands-on robotics design and participation in local and international robotics competitions.

Students will learn to design, build, program, test, and improve autonomous robots using LEGO Education robotics systems. Through participation in RobotChallenge categories such as Line Follower, RoboSumo, Robot Bowling, Unknown Mission, and Freestyle, students will gain authentic STEM experiences and develop resilience, leadership, and innovation skills. RobotChallenge is an international autonomous robotics competition featuring categories including RoboSumo, Line Follower, Robot Bowling, Unknown Mission, and Freestyle. 首页-RobotChallenge

The long-term vision is to establish the school as a recognized robotics center within the region, capable of hosting competitions, developing student leaders, and expanding into additional robotics platforms such as VEX Robotics.
